News and Announcements
Congratulations BullDogs!
Congratulations BullDogs, the 2008-09 Novice B Division Finalist! Clearly, the post season took on a whole new meaning for the coaches and all the players. Coach Shawn and Coach Michael prepared the players all season long by providing each player with the opportunities to try different positions in game situations. This type of exposure increased the player’s skills, developed their instincts and appreciation for positioning. In March, dedicated offence, defence and goalie lineups were assembled to go the distance. The BullDogs responded by posting a season best 5 league game undefeated streak enroute to the finals. Thank you BullDogs for an outstanding season and for your hardwork, determination and commitment to being true contenders!
Great Run at the Rogers House Tournament
The BullDogs saved their best performance for last as they topped this tournament season with their best ever showing. The BullDogs’ reached the "A’ side, quarter-finals on the merits of the tremendous and collective effort of the offence, defence and the goalie. Tournament highlights included at a 5-0 opening round win against the South End Sharks. In addition to the key goals by the offence, the win was anchored by breakthrough goals by the defensive duo of J. McCabe and L. McCabe and a shutout by N. Cheung. The BullDogs continue their solid play at both ends of the arena in the second game against the West End Wolf Pack. The 2-1 win was punctuated by R. Rivard’s dramatic game winning in the final minutes of the game. The BullDogs showed their true determined character against a unique team from Alexandria. While the game ended in a defeat, this was truly an example that the BullDogs have all the right stuff to go all the way in their quest as the KMHA Novice B playoff champions.
ROAD TRIP
ROAD TRIP . . . ROAD TRIP . . . ROAD TRIP!! The arenas of Kingston will remember what the BullDogs can bring to an out of town tournament. We brought our ‘A’ game from our undefeated playoff game streak to the Kids for Kids Tournament, but fate and officiating would not be on our side. All the players contributed greatly to our hard fought tie against the Firebolts (1-1); the 1st period win and what the "heck was that pull the goalie tactic" in the 2nd period and rough and tough 3rd period game against "the Army" (3-2); and finally the 7-2 game to the Lourdes of the Ringer. With experience on our side now, we’re well positioned to go far in the Roger’s House Tournament. GO BULLDOGS GO!!
